Featured Symposiums at the 2009 NEWSS Annual Meeting
The theme of the 2009 Symposium is Use of Biofuels and the Implications for Weed Management. The symposium will be Wednesday morning 8-10 AM. Symposium titles:
- After Abundance: Multi-functional Agriculture for a Carbon-Constrained World with Tom Richard, Penn State Institute of Energy and the Environment, University Park, PA.
- DOE’s Biofuels Research Program with Anna Palmisano, Department of Energy, Office of Science, Biological, and Environmental Research, Washington, DC.
- Are We Risking Biosecurity for Bioenergy: The Potential for Biofuels to Become Invasive Weeds with Jacob Barney, Department of Plant Science, University of California, Davis
Two special workshops on Tuesday afternoon, running concurrently: Casual Review of Statistics and Spray Application Technology (1.5 hr each).
Two Special events: Turfgrass Symposium (10 AM-1 PM) and Ornamentals Symposium (9 AM- 1 PM), on Thursday morning. One-day registration available for special symposia.
